Traditional Cow Calf Ranch
Serving Santa Cruz County
Estrada Grass Fed beef is owned and operated by Zach Estrada, who is a 5th generation cattle rancher in Santa Cruz County raising cattle on the land that his family settled on in the late 1840’s. In 2010 at the age of 11 years old, he purchased his own cattle with the help of his Grandfather, Frank Estrada, and began a small cow-calf operation. He has since expanded his herd, and now has cattle in both Santa Cruz and Santa Clara Counties. With a lot of local interest from consumers on the Central Coast for beef that is produced locally, Zach began selling grass fed all-natural beef. During his first year experimenting with grass fed beef sales, he kept it small and sold only a small portion of beef. Now through word of mouth, great customer service, and happy beef eaters, Zach now markets a couple thousand pounds of beef to consumers in 5 counties throughout the State. The cattle are 100% grass fed and finished and raised humanely. Zach takes pride in producing the best tasting product that he can. One way that this is possible is by letting the cattle graze naturally in a calm environment and by buying cattle with good genetics that produce the best tasting beef possible. Being a small local producer, it’s possible to produce quality over quantity. The cattle graze in the hills above the Pajaro Valley with ocean views on beautiful, open, native grasslands that have stayed the same for a couple hundred years. Zach takes pride in taking care of the land like his family has done for so many years. In his free time, you can find him and his dog, Tucker, making improvements on the ranch and taking care of his cattle.
